Meet the Creators
- Sally Dodge, Author -
Sally Dodge lives in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, with her husband, their two grown daughters and their families, and her two beloved dogs, Lewis and Clark. When she’s not writing, Sally loves skiing, hiking, and spending time at their rustic cabin up north, where they enjoy playing in the river and exploring the outdoors.
Sally earned her BA in Education from Loretto Heights College and began her career teaching Montessori preschool in Kansas City and Denver. After moving to Coeur d’Alene, she owned and operated a preschool for 20 years before working as an elementary school librarian and reading specialist.
A lifelong lover of books, Sally especially enjoys sharing stories with children. Lewis and Clark: Brothers Together Forever brings together her love of reading, children, and adventure. She feels especially fortunate to have connected with illustrator Sage Pedersen, who has beautifully embraced her vision for Lewis and Clark’s story.
- Sage Pedersen, Illustrator-
Sage Pedersen is a young illustrator from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, who discovered her passion for illustration through the experience of bringing Lewis and Clark: Brothers Together Forever to life. Inspired by the process of creating the book, Sage plans to pursue a degree in illustration in college.
Growing up, Sage spent her summers camping and exploring Idaho with her family. Those adventures became a source of inspiration as she illustrated the forests, wildlife, and beautiful scenery throughout Lewis and Clark’s journey.
Through her artwork, Sage hopes to inspire other kids to get outside, explore nature, and find the same sense of wonder and adventure she experienced growing up.
